ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE
Jorge is now certified in Active Release Technique (ART) for the lower extremities, offering a targeted, movement-based approach to address pain, tightness, and restricted mobility in the hips, legs, knees, and feet. This advanced technique allows him to work more precisely with overused or injured tissues to help you move more comfortably and efficiently.
What is Active Release Technique (ART)?
Active Release Technique (ART) is a hands-on, movement-based therapy that targets tight or overused muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. It helps break up adhesions and scar tissue that limit movement and contribute to pain and stiffness.
During an ART session, the provider uses specific pressure while guiding the area through targeted movements. This combination helps restore normal motion, improve circulation, and reduce discomfort.
How ART Works and What to Expect
What Does ART Help With?
ART can be helpful for people dealing with issues such as:
-
Tightness, stiffness, or pain in the hips, legs, knees, or feet
-
Sports or repetitive-use injuries
-
Sciatica or nerve entrapments
-
Plantar fasciitis or Achilles issues
-
Discomfort from sitting, standing, or running
-
Restricted movement from overuse or scar tissue

If you’re not sure whether ART is right for you, our team can help you decide based on your symptoms and goals.
What to Expect at Your ART Session
At your visit, Jorge will
-
Ask about your symptoms, lifestyle, and activity level
-
Assess the movement, tension, and sensitivity of the affected area
-
Use precise, manual pressure combined with guided movement
-
Continuously check in about your comfort and response
Sessions are active rather than “just lying on the table.” You may feel some intense but manageable pressure, followed by a sense of release and improved mobility.
Contraindications
Active Release Technique (ART) for the lower extremities is not appropriate for acute or unstable injuries, such as recent fractures, significant ligament tears, acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT), open wounds, active infections, or areas with marked swelling and redness. It should also be avoided over areas with severe osteoporosis, in patients on blood-thinning medications when there is increased bleeding risk, or where there is concern about reduced or compromised blood flow.

Pricing
Initial ART assessment and treatment: $125
Your first visit includes a thorough evaluation of the injury or problem area, along with a full treatment. Some concerns may resolve in a single session, while others require follow-up care, and most cases improve within about 5–6 visits.

Follow-Up Visits $100
A follow-up ART session is a focused 15–30 minute visit designed to continue the work started in your initial treatment. Jorge will reassess how you’re responding, fine-tune techniques, and target the specific muscles, tendons, or nerves that are still tight, irritated, or limiting your movement. These sessions are ideal for progressing healing, maintaining improvements, and addressing ongoing demands from work, sports, or daily activities.
