Our oncology massage therapy is performed by a licensed massage therapist who has had specialized training in massage techniques for cancer patients. This massage differs from your typical massage, as it requires more background information and assessment of your medical history so that we can implement the appropriate level of pressure and movement for your individual body. Generally, you can expect our oncology massage to be gentler with slower, steadier bodywork. In addition to relieving muscle tension and making you feel more comfortable and soothed, our oncology massage can help with the following:

According to the Society for Oncology Massage: 

"An oncology massage is a client-specific, customized massage session designed to meet the unique and changing needs of someone in treatment for cancer or with a history of cancer treatment. A safe massage plan generally revolves around the side effects (both short- and long-term) of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. Oncology massage should only be performed by a licensed massage therapist who is specially trained in oncology massage. Please consult your healthcare practitioner before scheduling an oncology massage."
