Tribute Blood Drive for the Mother of Tara Shelton, LMT.

As a close-knit community, we come together to support one another in times of need. We invite you to join us in honoring the memory of Tara Shelton's beloved mother, Donna, who recently passed away unexpectedly. In celebration of her vibrant spirit and the love she shared with family and friends, we are organizing a tribute blood drive. This initiative aims to give back to our community and create a positive impact in her honor. Your participation will help us remember Donna's legacy of kindness and generosity.

Please be sure to SCHEDULE YOUR TIME SLOT to donate to the Red Cross HERE.  

If you would like to also RSVP with us so that we can keep a head count, you can do that as well. However, your RSVP with us does not guarantee a time slot to donate blood at the event.

Even if you are unable to donate blood, your support in spreading the word and encouraging others to participate is greatly appreciated.

On March 29, 2024, my amazing mother, Donna Marie Brooks, tragically passed away at the age of 61 due to a sudden heart attack. She bravely battled with a clotting disorder known as immune or idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) for many years. This autoimmune condition causes the body to attack its platelets, resulting in an increased risk of bleeding and other cardiovascular complications. Her strength and courage in facing this challenging condition will always be remembered.

To maintain stable platelet levels, she required numerous blood transfusions and infusions over the years. We are deeply grateful to the countless donors whose selfless contributions allowed us to enjoy many cherished years with her.

Donna embodied selflessness, unwavering support for her family, and an unparalleled level of honor. Her love was intense, and her presence illuminated every room she entered. Her most significant achievement in life was being an exceptional mother to me and my sister Alyssa. However, her grandchildren - Violet, Sadie, and Luca - held an even more special place in her heart. Her warmth and grace extended to her entire family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. Even in her absence, her impact continues to be deeply felt by all who knew her.

As a tribute to my mother’s love and selflessness, I reached out to my employer, Christine Pellegrino of Pellegrino Healing Center, to propose organizing a blood drive in my mother’s honor. Without hesitation, Christine and her team took immediate action. They began coordinating with the Red Cross to arrange the event and secure a suitable venue. Miraculously, everything quickly fell into place, as if guided by my mother's loving presence.

I want to express my gratitude for your help in honoring the memory of my mama Donna, by bringing the community together for this important cause. Your generous donation in Donna’s memory will truly make a meaningful difference in saving the lives of other mothers out there.
